Fundraiser

Barbara having an online fundraiser to support our free summer concert at Asylum Hill Congregational Church. Funds raised will be distributed to us through Blackledgemusic Inc., our fiscal sponsor. This concert is entirely supported by grants and donations. The more money we raise independently, the better our grant application will be viewed by the Preston Fund, our main funder.

Please consider donating towards next summer’s concert. We’re excited to be playing Baroque music on Baroque instruments, with guest artist Debby Tyler playing Baroque violin.

The fundraiser ends January 7, 2020. Here’s the link to contribute. Any amount is welcome, and thank you!

Home, Sweet Home-Sept. 8

  • Sunday, September 8, 2019, at 4:00 PM.
  • We’ll be in the chapel of Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave. in Hartford.
  • Free, air conditioned, plenty of free and secure parking.
  • Sponsored by the Evelyn Preston Memorial Trust Fund, Blackledge Music Inc., Music Performance Trust Funds, and Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

What did people do for amusement in the days before TV, CD players, and smart phones? They played music at home, and flute and guitar was a very popular combination! Come hear this all-new concert of songs, dances, romantic music, and theme with variations. Lovely, catchy tunes and virtuosic variations will leave you wanting more. We’ll be playing on 19th century period instruments–wood flute and 19th century guitar. Join the fun!
